Right Wing?

A friend of mine posted this cartoon on Facebook today. Feeling the way that I do about the current administration and congress, I thought the cartoon couldn't be more accurate (and it made me laugh).

Monte and I were talking politics again the other day and he told me that I was right wing. Now, I always thought of myself as a moderate conservative, but I never thought that I was "right wing". Well, after some considerable thought, I've come to the conclusion that he's right. I don't believe that the government should take care of us and tell us what is and isn't good for us. I don't believe that if we smile and extend our hand in friendship (or close Guantanamo Bay) that the radical Islamists in this world are going to stop wanting to wipe us off the face of the earth. They've been hating us for centuries and will continue to do so. I do believe that something should be done about health care in this country, but not what is being done so deviously behind closed doors right now. That whole thing stinks of corruption and I am amazed that nobody is trying to stop them. Nancy Pelosi stands behind her podium and smiles prettily and lies straight through her teeth when she says its all been done with openness and working along side her Republican counterparts. Obama gives pretty speeches and says absolutely nothing. Harry Reid makes back door deals with blue dog Democrats (i.e. throws $3 million their way) to get them to vote his way. What the heck is going on I ask? Somebody said the other day that this is the way things are done in Washington and have been done in Washington for a very long time. Well I say, isn't that why people voted for Barak Obama? He said he was going to bring change. Has there been any change? No, there has not.

So, there you have it. Just a small rant from this newly recognized right wing moderate conservative. Whew! I feel a lot better now. Well, at least until I turn on the news tonight. Ha Ha.
