The Progression of Sophie

Sophie turned 6 months old this month, so I thought I would post some picture's of her growth so far. She definitely doesn't look like the fuzzy little puppy Monte and I brought home on February 22nd. She's a very smart girl and is now beginning to show her protectiveness of us and the house. In the beginning, I didn't think she was going to be much of a watch dog, but I'm changing my mind now. She's beginning to bark at people and on a couple occasions, when she's heard a noise, she growls really low and the hair all along her shoulders and back stand up. I think if somebody was trying to hurt us or break into the house, Sophie would do all she could to protect us. We love her more everyday and can't really remember not having her with us. She's our baby girl.

Random Things

Not much has been going on since I last posted. Just getting through each day and counting down the days until school starts (Ha Ha). The boys hate it when I bring up school, but what can I say..."It's the most wonderful time of the year!" :)

We went to another Kinston Indian's game last night with Darron, Ann and the girls. The K-Tribe played well and we beat the Wilmington (Delaware) Blue Rocks, 3 to 2. There were fireworks after this game too and they were Awesome!

That's about it for now. I hope you all have a great weekend! God Bless! :)

Hey All!

I can't believe its been 2 weeks since I last posted. I guess that's a good thing though, that the time is going by quickly. According to the counter, we're down to 143 days. Or 5 months or 9 paydays. Somebody said they are counting the time in paydays and I thought that sounded pretty good.

Monte called me last night and it was so GREAT to hear his voice! They had been off the ship the past 3 weeks for training and there was only 1 computer for the entire battalion. Consequently, I think I got 2 emails from him the whole time they were on land. I've grown used to being able to email back and forth and it was hard not to have that. I've gotten used to that day to day contact with him. Monte is doing good. He wishes he was home with the boys and I, but is making the most of his time on the ship. He's turned into quite the workout addict too. He's watching what he eats, running and lifting weights. He says his weight is going down and his "guns" are bulking up.
The boys and I went to a Kinston Indians baseball game last Sunday. We went with some of the other CLB-22 wives. It was too hot and humid, but we made the most of it and it turned out to be a really good game. The Indians beat the Potomac Nationals 5 to 2. The boys actually want to go to another game, so we'll probably be seeing at least one more before the season is over. When Monte and I were stationed here before, we took Brady to several games and we always had a great time.

We haven't been doing much lately, other than the baseball game. Its been hot, so we've gone to the pool and hung out at home in the air conditioning. I've somehow contracted the cleaning bug and the last few days I've been cleaning and organizing. Nate's been playing with his friend Chase and Brady's been playing his PSP. Not too exciting I know, but what can I say. Oh, we did go to see Up at the base theater. It was a cute movie. Made me cry a little bit, but I would recommend it. The Pixar movies are always good.

Well, have a great week everyone. God Bless! :)

Happy 4th of July!

Wishing you all a safe and wonderful 4th of July. I heard everyone was going over to Darcy's today. I'm jealous! I wish we were home so we could be there with all of you guys. But, at least I'm not totally alone. I went and picked up the boys today from camp. While I enjoyed my time alone this past week, I did miss them and am glad to have them home. I'll post again soon about their time at camp. Now, I'm going to log off the computer and go veg on the couch. Had to get up at 6 am this morning so I could make it to pick them up at 9 am. Now, its 4 pm and all of the driving has made me tired. Have a great weekend everyone! God Bless You All & God Bless Our Troops & God Bless America!
